About the event
Angela from Milkbags Unlimited will be facilitating a milkbag weaving session to educate us how we can recycle plastic milkbags into mattresses and mats. A volunteer initiative launched in Toronto following the 2010 Haitian earthquake has helped countless of people in need -- including those in disaster zones.
Each mattress is made of approximately 420 milk bags, with a lifespan of approximately 25 years. They are also waterproof, bug-proof and can be easily cleaned and dried.
Feel free to save your own milkbags and bring them to the event!
Event Fee: To Be Determined (pay at the door or etransfer to info@rotaractmississauga.ca)
All proceeds and donations from the event will go directly to support our club's International Project - Well Installation Project in Ukerewe Island, Tanzania. For more information on the project, check out: https://www.rotaractmiss.com/well-project
